Akanksha Monga didn’t think twice before quitting her cushy desk job at LinkedIn as a Creator Manager Associate. She had earlier gigged at Bain & Co as a senior analyst. During her earlier career, she interned with Grant Thompson LLP. A commerce grad from the prestigious Hindu College from the Delhi University, Akanksha has had a prolific career through and throughout. But that wasn’t her dream to be a career woman (no offense to one). The travel bug in her couldn’t resist dropping it all last year in May 2022. She decided to go globetrotting. All by herself. And thus her journey of ‘Offbeat Travel’ and ‘Travel A More’ started as a solo ghumakkad around the world.
Akanksha took to Twitter and expressed how the journey has been all along. She writes that when she left the job she promised herself a year to focus on her passion and travel the world full-time. She was burnt out when she commenced the journey. She worked all by herself without a crew, armed by 250k followers. So what’s the stats now?
Last year, on this very date.
When I left, I promised to give myself 1 year to focus on my passion and travel the world full time.
When I left I was burnt out,had 250k followers on IG, worked alone.

Akanksha tweeted exactly a year later on 18th May 2023 with the progress report. Her community has grown from 250k to about 700k fans and followers on Instagram. She has traveled across 12 nations of which 8 were absolutely solo trips. With TravelAMore she has now built a team of 6 and worked with over 30 brands. The global ghumantu quips that she still feels burnt out at times and the working hours are longer than a corporate job. But then it is all satisfying at the end.
