Comments.
When visitors leave comments on a website, the site collects their comments, IP address, and browser user agent string to help detect and prevent spam. An anonymized string created from the commenter’s email address (hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if they have a profile picture. If approved, the profile picture may be displayed publicly alongside the comment.
Media.
Avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) to the website. Visitors can download and extract this data from the images, potentially compromising privacy.
Cookies.
When you leave a comment, your name, email, and website can be saved in cookies for one year to save you time in filling out the details.
When you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is used to check if your browser accepts cookies. It’s deleted when you close your browser.
Logging in sets up cookies to remember your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, while screen options cookies last for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps your login for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, a cookie saves the post ID for one day, without personal data.
