Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, announced at MWC 2023 that the company would introduce its first foldable flagship smartphone in the second half of 2023. The company will make its official entry into the foldable handset market in August of this year, according to chairman Max Jambor. The Google Pixel Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be competitors of the foldable OnePlus smartphone.
Notably, Google has said that their Pixel Fold product launch event for Google I/O 2023 would take place on May 10.

The reports indicate that the OnePlus foldable phone will have a flip design. The OnePlus V Fold is the most likely moniker for the smartphone. The Oppo Find N2 has already made its debut in China, and there are rumors that the OnePlus foldable phone may be an updated version of it.
OnePlus Fold Rumored Specifications
The rumors suggest that the OnePlus V Fold will have a 7.1-inch LTPO AMOLED primary panel and a 5.54-inch AMOLED outer display. Both of these screens could have refresh rates of 120Hz. It is anticipated that it will be driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and Adreno GPU. Up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage might be included in the foldable smartphone.
The smartphone is scheduled to come with a triple back camera configuration for photography, including an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 13MP 2X telephoto lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS and LED light. A 32MP front-facing camera for photos and video calls may have been included.
The foldable smartphone will probably have a 4,520 mAh battery with 67W rapid charging functionality. The smartphone likely ship with ColorOS 13, which is based on Android 13. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Type-C connector are further features that are planned for the OnePlus foldable phone.
