This month, Apple eventually opened two Apple Stores in India, a move that was somewhat overdue. The company has appointed groups of highly educated, technologically proficient employees to assist all Apple Store customers in Mumbai and Delhi.
According to reports, these Apple Store employees in India earn significantly more than their counterparts at other tech retailers. The caretakers of Apple’s India stores wore green t-shirts and stood alongside Cook last week as they greeted consumers lining up outside the stores with shouts and acclaim.

Apple pays its personnel who manage its two retail stores in India approximately Rs. 1 lakh per month. The monthly remuneration offered by Apple Stores in India is rumored to be up to four times greater than what other tech companies pay their retail store employees. An estimated 170 individuals have been hired by the Cupertino, California-based tech colossus to administer its two Apple Stores in India. It is also evident that Apple conducted due diligence prior to finalizing the team members who will operate the first two stores in India.
Apple has staffed its Indian retail stores with linguists who have advanced skills in Information Technology (IT), electrical engineering, robotics, and computer applications, in addition to holding advanced degrees in these fields. As part of Apple’s retail expansion in India, some staff members have also been relocated from other countries.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the deputy minister for information technology, recently told Reuters that Apple could double or quadruple its investments in India and exports in the near future. During his visit to India, the Apple CEO conferred with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The meeting focused on Apple’s intentions to expand its business and manufacturing operations in India.
