Threaditors will now be able to edit their messages without having the history on display. In addition to the edit feature, users can also post voice notes that will be automatically transcribed by the app. The announcement has delighted the users of the app, which has seen a decline in its daily active user base since an explosive subscription in July. Within a week of its launch, the app had over 100 million subscribers. It was already dubbed a Twitter killer, provoking the new boss of the app, Elon Musk, who has been dissing Zuckerberg’s app relentlessly. Even as active subscriptions have dwindled as the app periodically rolls out new features, Threads is constantly mocked by Musk for emulating Twitter, now known as X.

X rolled out it’s edit feature just before Musk took over. The edit button was the most sought after feature on the app, as Musk conducted a poll last year. However, it is offered only with a subscription. X/Twitter took years to get the feature and then offered it at a premium. In contrast, Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement comes as an early Christmas gift for its users.
