Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 17, is set to roll out on Monday, September 18, 2023, bringing a plethora of new features and enhancements to iPhone users. These updates span across Apple’s native apps like Phone, Messages, FaceTime, and more.

iOS 17 introduces exciting functionality, including Live Voicemail and FaceTime audio and video messages, Contact Posters that enable personalized appearances during incoming calls, a revamped Messages app, and Name Drop, a novel way to exchange contacts by simply bringing phones close together.

Enhanced iMessage Experience

The iMessage experience receives a significant overhaul in iOS 17, featuring a new keyboard drawer for easy access to commonly used functions like Camera, Photo, Stickers, Apple Cash, Audio, and Location Sharing. Additionally, users can create their “Live Stickers” by animating subjects from their photos, and a safety feature called “Check In” allows users to notify friends and family when they reach their destination.

StandBy and Journal Features

iOS 17 introduces StandBy, providing a full-screen experience when the phone is placed horizontally, displaying glanceable information, widgets, clocks, photos, and notifications. The update also brings a new first-party app called ‘Journal,’ allowing users to track their daily activities and well-being.

Wide Array of Enhancements

Other notable improvements include enhanced Private Browsing in Safari, support for passkeys, new mental health features in the Health app, offline Maps, updates for Apple Music, AirPlay, AirTag, the Home app, Reminders, Siri, and various other enhancements, promising a more comprehensive and enriched user experience.
