Apple, the Cupertino-based tech giant, is said to be in the process of developing iPad Pro versions featuring a blend of OLED and LCD displays, available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. According to the reports, these new models might offer storage options of up to 4TB, which will be the first in the segment. If these hybrid OLED iPad Pro models make it to the market, they could potentially replace the current-generation 11-inch iPad Pro, which utilizes a traditional LCD, and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, equipped with a mini-LED panel. In the event of a successful launch of these hybrid OLED iPad Pro models, Apple might consider discontinuing the older iPad Pro models mentioned earlier.

Apple iPad Pro In Works
It has been reported by DigiTimes that the company is planning to equip the forthcoming alleged iPad Pro models with hybrid OLED, which are going to be both flexible and rigid in nature. This certainly also indicated a much thinner and lighter form factor.
Furthermore, the report suggests that OLED displays are going to improve the brightness and colour accuracy of the iPad Pro models, and it will produce better contrast. Certainly, the inclusion of OLED panels will also allow the company to enhance power consumption and offer a better battery life.
OLED displays have the flexibility to achieve lower refresh rates compared to LCDs. Therefore, the current iPad Pro models, which currently offer refresh rates ranging from 24Hz to 120Hz, could potentially reduce their refresh rates to as low as 10Hz or even lower. This would contribute to reduced power consumption. A similar approach has been observed in the iPhone 14 Pro, where its OLED screen refreshes at approximately 1Hz in the Always-on Display (AoD) mode.
