This year’s Indian Mobile Congress witnessed numerous innovative products. Among the array of impressive demonstrations, one standout product was the JioGlass, providing a glimpse into the future of made-in-India smart glasses. These smart glasses are the brainchild of Tesseract, a deep-tech startup that Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) acquired in 2019. Tesseract excels in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies for a range of devices.

Sleek and Lightweight Design
With a futuristic aesthetic, the JioGlass weighs only 69 grams, these smart glasses sport a sleek metallic grey frame with two lenses, resembling something straight out of a sci-fi movie.
One unique feature of the JioGlass is its ability to seamlessly transition between AR and VR modes. By attaching or detaching a removable flap with a stylish chrome finish, you can shift between immersive content consumption and an augmented reality overlay, allowing you to engage with your surroundings.
The VR mode can transform this compact device into a large virtual screen. Equipped with a 1080p display for each eye, it delivers a 100-inch virtual screen experience, though enhanced clarity would be appreciated.
Audio and Connectivity
The JioGlass features two speakers on the sides, positioned over the ears, and supports spatial audio. Other than this it comes with Type-C connectivity and the ability to stream content from platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar, and even connect gaming consoles or PCs for immersive gaming on a large screen.
